Christina and Fessy

This Sweet little girl and her cuddly dog came to me through the Fulton Neighborhood Fundraiser. The Fulton neighborhood has a yearly fundraiser to raise money to better the community. There were donations of all kinds from vendors around the metro, and when my friend asked if I wanted in, I said SURE! I don't believe that memories should cost a fortune, and when capturing the relationship between Christina and Fessy, what I get back from it makes me feel like I have the best job in the world. I can't wait to see the fun personality this girl has as she gets older and the look on her mom's face as she does it, since I know what it's like to be the mother of a 9 year old free spirt :)

The Herrmann Family

"People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do."

For those of you who know this poem you're going to completely get what I have to say. We all have relationships in our lives that are for a reason, season, or a lifetime. We all have immediate parts of our life that require something from someone that you can't provide yourself. Those people enter your life for a reason. There are people who come into your life for a season. Teachers who change your life, nurses that tend to the chronically ill, or friends that have something in common with you, such as work. And then there are those who enter your world for a lifetime. Those who become a constant you begin to know and love. Those who see you at your best, your worst, and everything inbetween and still look at you saying "I am here for you, no matter what you need." the people who make your life better just because they are there, because they are beside you, because they make up some of the small parts that make you who you are when all is said and done. Well last Sunday I had the opportunity to photograph some of my lifetime people. They welcomed me whole heartedly when I first moved to Belle Plaine and we haven't looked back. We decided to go to Hidden Valley Park in Savage and boy is there a ton of cool niches to catch great light, great scenery, and of course laughter when you bring the Herrmann's along! I had a blast hanging out with you guys and I can't wait to see what the rest of this lifetime brings! I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Historical Society (test shots)

A friend of mine asked me to meet her at the Historical Society in Belle Plaine to try some test shots out. So I of course said, "SURE!" Since she brought along her cuties, I decided to snap a few, and here are my favorites :)

Rachel and Caleb said, " I do!!!"

It was a beautiful day, with a breeze in the morning and sunshine to spare. It felt like a wedding day from the start that kept a smile on my face all day. They were full of life, up for anything, and a retro couch made the day complete. I was so grateful to be there to share their day and capture the start of their life together. Also, this will go on record as the first wedding I have been at where a dog was in on the festivities. Thanks Sammy for keeping me company at the formal shots! So I have put in some photos to start with and may add more to this later, but just wanted to show some of the fun we had that day:)
Thanks again Caleb and Rachel! I wish you all the best in your new life together!

And just because we love Jasmine Star(www.jasminestarblog.com), I included this one!

First Day of School

"But that's my lunch box!" "No I can't find my other shoe!" "Where is the toothpaste?" "How do I know that she doesn't need me to bring all the pencils on the first day of school?"
"Can we just get outside so we're on time guys??????"

Ahhhh, the first day of school. The familiar hustle and bustle of getting three kids out the door was such a challenge last year that I welcomed summer with open arms. And somehow it snuck up on me again. This time I was really excited though as today was a milestone. All four of my children are school age!!! However, you'll notice, only three went to school that day as Elli had a horrible ear infection that with the CDA pandemonium of H1N1 meant she was staying behind :(
